Emergency Medical Technician – Refresher (EMT-R)

Emergency Medical Technician – Refresher (EMT-R) is a 30-hour program of instruction in the following subject matter topics:

Preparatory (1 Hour)
Airway (2 Hours)
Obstetrics, Infants and Children (2 Hours)
Patient Assessment (3 Hours)
Medical/Behavioral (4 Hours)
Trauma (4 Hours)
Pediatric Trauma (2 Hours)
HIV/Aids (2 Hours)
Law Enforcement First Responder – Tactical Casualty Care (10 Hours)

EMT-R is conducted with minimal didactic (lecture) and focuses on the practicum and simulation training exercises (STX) phases of training.

Continuing Education:
Emergency Medical Technician – Refresher (EMT-R) is a Board Approved Continuing Education (CE) Training Program (20-496947) for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedic (PMD) re-certification, by the State of Florida Bureau of Emergency Medical Services; and is applicable to EMT, Advanced EMT and Paramedic Refresher Requirements in accordance with Recertification Requirements as prescribed by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) .

30 CE Hours

Cadre:
Instructors assigned to the EMT-R course are seasoned Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Practitioners and Instructors possessing verified and documented experience in the delivery of emergency care.

Instructor Training Jackets (ITJ) are available upon request.
