Tactical Operation Series (TOS): Advanced Airway Management is a four (4) hour program of instruction that provides the Course Participant an understanding of pathophysiology of the intact respiratory system (upper and lower), the importance of adequate movement of oxygenated blood in casualty care, and appropriate non-surgical tactical airway management modalities: Airway control techniques and devices appropriate to the Tactical Field Care phase, diagnosis and treatment on tension pneumothorax in the tactical environment, and pulse oximetry in prehospital combat casualty care and pitfalls associated with interpretation of pulse oximeter readings.
Tactical Operation Series (TOS): Advanced Airway Management is conducted in strict accordance with the most current Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Guidelines as prescribed by the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care.

Tactical Operations Series (TOS): Advanced Airway Management is a Board Approved Continuing Education (CE) Training Program (20-520410) for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedic (PMD) re-certification by the State of Florida Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, and is applicable to the EMT, Advanced EMT and Paramedic Refresher Requirements in accordance with Recertification Requirements as prescribed by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) .

Instructors assigned to Tactical Medical Operations (TOS) Series courses are seasoned tactical law enforcement operator/medics, tactical medics in direct support of tactical law enforcement, or military special operations forces medics, possessing verified and documented experience in the delivery of care in all three phases of Tactical Combat Casualty Care.
Instructor Training Jackets (ITJ) are maintained by Tactical Element and available for review.

1. During Tactical Operations Series programs of instruction the goal is to train as close as possible to reality. Live irritants and impact weapons are not allowed. Unless otherwise advised, service ammunition and weapons are neither necessary nor permitted at any training site, at any time during any Tactical Element program of instruction! UTM weapon systems and ammunition will be supplied by Tactical Element only.
