Range Medic

Range Medic (RNGMED) is an exciting and intense 40-hour program of instruction for law enforcement and security personnel responsible for medical coverage on firearms, explosive ordnance device (EOD), and K-9 training.  Training is comprised of classroom lecture and practicum, implemented through both low-fidelity and high-fidelity Realistic Medical Simulation Technology (RMST), real time (scenario based) simulation training exercises (STX).

Range Medic is conducted in strict accordance with the most current Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Guidelines as prescribed by the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC)Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) Guidelines as prescribed by the Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (C-TECC), and the National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards as prescribed by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).

Continuing Education:

Tactical Element is a Board Approved Educational Provider (50-17997) for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedic (PMD) training by the State of Florida Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.

Range Medic (RNGMED) ( 20-533297) awards 40 Continuing Education (CE) Hours through CE Broker, applicable to the EMT (NREMT), Advanced EMT (NRAEMT) and Paramedic (NRP) Refresher Requirements in accordance with Recertification Requirements as prescribed by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).

Cadre:
Instructors assigned to the Range Medic course are seasoned law enforcement or security officers certified as firearms instructors.

Instructor Training Jackets (ITJ) are maintained by Tactical Element and available for review.

Certifications Earned:
Tactical Element Range Medic (two-year) Certification; and

National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians Law Enforcement First Responder – Tactical Casualty Care Provider;

Eligibility to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) written examination for Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification (examination fee not included in course tuition)

1. Range Medic continues forward regardless the weather (w/ exception of lightning).

2. Tactical Element programs-of-instruction are conducted in strict accordance with the Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Guidelines as prescribed by the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC); and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) Guidelines as prescribed by the Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (C-TECC).
